Product Details

Product Name

  • Arko Charbon, Carminative, Remove Gases & Reduce Abdominal Pain - 45 Capsules

Scientific Name

  • Charcoal

Category Of Arko Charbon Capsules

  • Anti-flatulent drugs

Mechanism Of Action Of Charcoal

  • Activated charcoal adsorbs ingested toxins within the gastrointestinal tract preventing the systemic absorption of that toxin.
  • An anti-flatulent that changes surface tension of gas bubbles, allowing easier elimination of gas.

Therapeutic Indications Of Arko Charbon Capsules

  • This medication is indicated for the relief of painful symptoms such as the sensation of pressure, fullness in the epigastrium, and intestinal spasm – due to excessive accumulation of gases that may be formed in the digestive tract in the following cases:
  1. Air swallowing (aerophagia)
  2. Functional dyspepsia
  3. Irritable bowel syndrome
  4. Peptic ulcer
  5. Postoperative gaseous distension
  6. Infant colic.

Method Of Administration Of Arko Charbon Capsules

  • Take 1-4 capsules at a time; 12 capsules are the maximum dose per day.
  • Take the capsules with water.
  • Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
  • If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
  • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
  • Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

Undesirable Side Effects Of Arko Charbon Capsules

  • Although not everybody gets them.
  • More commonly reported side effects are: vomiting; constipation; abdominal discomfort; diarrhea; nausea; a sudden need to defecate; anal irritation.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Precautions While Taking Arko Charbon Capsules

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Non-Pharmacological Treatments & Advice To Reduce Gases

  • Eat and drink slowly. Taking your time can help you swallow less air. Try to take your meals in relaxed occasions; eating when you're stressed or on the run increases the air you swallow.
  • Avoid carbonated drinks. They release carbon dioxide gas.
  • Skip the gum and hard candy. When you chew gum or suck on hard candy, you swallow more often than normal. Part of what you're swallowing is air.
  • Don't smoke. When you inhale smoke, you also inhale and swallow air.
  • Check your dentures. Poorly fitting dentures can cause you to swallow excess air when you eat and drink.
  • Get moving. It may help to take a short walk after eating.
  • Treat heartburn. For occasional, mild heartburn, over-the-counter antacids or other remedies may be helpful. GERD may require prescription-strength medication or other treatments.

Warnings & Special Precautions while Taking Arko Charbon Capsules

  • Do not use:
  1. If you are allergic to one of its ingredients
  2. If you have a complete blockage in your intestines.
